so, what are wax melts anyway?
wax melts are pieces of shaped and coloured wax which have been infused with one or more fragrance oils. these oils have been perfectly combined to produce an enticing scent, which is released into the air when the wax is gently melted.
unlike a scented candle, wax melts are made without a wick and are melted using either a classic ceramic melter, or a flame-free electric model.
by adding reusable liners to your melters it's even easier to switch between fragrances whenever you wish - changing the ambience of your space to match your mood without adding clutter to your home.
cherrybaby wax melts are shaped into 10 segment bars and are most effective by melting 2 squares at a time.
how to use
- select your melter and your snap bar
- set your melter on a level and secure surface, out of the reach of children and pets
- snap off two squares and place into a reusable liner - or directly into your melters wax dish
cherrybaby recommends washing your hands after handing our melts to wash off any fragrance transfer
- place a 2-4 hour tealight (see fire safety section for more details) below the wax dish, and light
- as the wax melts, the fragrance is slowly released.

wax melts should not be heated for longer than 4 hours at a time. the good news is, cherrybaby snapbars are infused with the maximum possible fragrance load, so you can remelt the same squares for a second, or even third, time!
with proper use, each cherrybaby snap bar should provide between 45 - 60 hours of home fragrance. that's the equivalent of around 8p per hour.
wax does not evapourate and heating the wax will burn off the added fragrance. therefore it completely normal for the strength of the wax melt to reduce over the course of it's melt time.
it is a personal choice as to whether wax is replaced as its scent begins to fade, or whether each piece is remelted until the fragrance is entirely gone. whichever your preference, cherrybaby snap bars are expected to provide a minimum of 45 hours at maximum fragrance levels.
unique, not uniform
at cherrybaby, every single wax product is melted, mixed, poured, cured and packaged by hand.
this means that there may be some variation in colour or finish between batches - although you can be assured that our irresistable array of fragrances will remain unchanged unless clearly stated.
every melt is re-checked at time of shipping to ensure that it is as perfect as can be - however, as with all handmade items, the occasional smudge or imperfection is to be expected.
let's talk fire safety, baby!
whether you are an occasional customer, or a wax melt enthusiast, it is vital that care is taken when using any product with an open flame.
at cherrybaby, we recommend the following tips to ensure the best out of our products, as well as the safety of your home.
1. use a suitable melter - your melter should be a minimum of 10cm tall with a deep enough dish to contain the melted wax.
2. tea lights should be suitable for a 2 - 4 hour burn only. larger tea lights burn too hot, which will not only reduce the lifetime of your wax melt by burning off the fragrance too fast, but may also cause hairline cracks or fractures in your melter - an obvious fire hazzard.
3. for easier clean up, to avoid waxy spills or to simply switch regularly between fragrances, we recommend using re-usable liners.
4. should you wish to remove flames entirely from your wax melt experience, all of our melts can be used in an electric melter (which we also stock in our shop!)
